Seven Women in Kathmandu

seven women kathmandu - nepal

Seven Women is empowering Nepali women, transforming their lives and their communities.

Stephanie Woollard founded the association back in 2006, inspired during her visit in Nepal from Australia. 12 years after her meeting in a tin shed that started it all, over 5,000 women have been educated, trained and employed by Seven Women.

The goal is to finally turn nepalese women into independent girls, mums, ladies, and stop being seen as under-category of society.

"Educate" is the word, not just charity.

At the core of the project is not only sewing and literacy training, but also something truly special: traditional Nepalese cooking lessons offered to visitors inside the community space. These classes provide a vital source of income, helping the initiative remain financially sustainable, while also giving travelers an authentic and delicious way to experience Nepalese culture through its food and hospitality.

This photo series is a tribute to the resilience, creativity, and quiet determination of the women at Seven Women. Their work not only transforms their own lives, but also builds bridges between cultures through shared stories, skills, and smiles.
